mmense pandemonium reigned in the Pakistan Parliament on Wednesday after a war of words erupted between PML-N senator Mushahid Ullah Khan and federal minister Fawad Chaudhry. A video of the verbal battle between Khan and Chaudhry has surfaced on Twitter and netizens are in splits.
In the wake of India’s decision to scrap Article 370, that conferred special status to Jammu and Kashmir, a joint session of the Parliament was held in Pakistan. Khan, while criticising the PTI government in Pakistan over the development in Kashmir, implied that Chaudhary is a dog that escalated the spat.
Khan was soon interrupted by Chaudhry that angered the senator. “Ek toh yeh dabbu saab bole jaa rahe hain. Main inhe ghar chhor ke aaya thaa, yeh phir idhar aa gaye (This timid person is constantly talking. I left him at home. He has returned again),” Khan said, adding, “Tumhe toh main baandh ke aaya thaa (I had tied you at home).”
An infuriated Chaudhary retaliated by saying, “Joote maarunga tumhe.” (I’ll hit you with shoes) Words such as “Shut Up” and “Badtameez” (ill-mannered) were also heard during the conversation. Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, who was presiding over the proceedings, repeatedly intervened but both parties refused to stop.

Pakistan has responded strongly after the Narendra Modi-led NDA government decided to end special status for Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the decision in Rajya Sabha on August 5. So as to “reorganise” Jammu and Kashmir, Amit Shah said that the state has been bifurcated into two Union Territories – J&K and Ladakh.
The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will have a legislature, like Delhi while Ladakh will not.
